「Stones Throw」の掘り師Egonが設立した「Now Again」から、テキサス州ヒューストンで60年代〜70年代に活動していた、Conrad O.Johnson先生率いるカシミア高校の14〜18才のファンク・エリート集団「Kashmere Stage Band」の激レア音源アルバムが2LPで登場です!! 特にDJ Shadowが「Handsome Boy Modeling School / Holy Calamity」でネタに使用した超絶ドラム・ブレイク連発のD1.の「Kashmere」がヤバスギです!! 演奏自体は高校生とは全く思えない内容ですが、高校生バンドらしく「James Brown / Super Bad」、「Dennis Coffey / Scorpio」、「Isaac Hayes / Do Your Thing」などなどカヴァー作品を多く収録!! かなりオススメ!! |
