"Roc Wit'Cha"と並ぶ、Bobby Brownを代表する傑作スロウナンバーが正規再発!! New Editionから離脱した後の彼を一躍スターダムへと押し上げた、'88年リリースの怪物級の大ヒット2ndアルバム「Don't Be Cruel」から、"Every Little Step"、"My Perogative"、"Roc Wit'Cha"と並んでシングルカットされた1曲。 この後に発表された、Tevin Campbell "Can We Talk"や、Joe "Good Girl"の歌詞の中でも登場する、女性(前者は「シャイな女の子」、後者は「運命の女性」の意味で)を指して言う言葉『Roni』をタイトルとしている本作ですが、当然タイトル通りにR&Bファンならば避けては通れない『甘〜い名曲』です! いわゆる『ボビ男』が大量発生した当時が懐かしい世代にはモチロン、初めて聴く人にもオススメです。とにかく7分48秒にも及ぶ必殺な長尺バージョンのA1.に酔っちゃって下さい!! |
